Switch it on and there are two different play modes. Freestyle where you can tap away with fingers or mallet and create your own music or push the Einstein button and it will change the background melody.

Or Instructional mode where you let the colourful lights guide you to the correct note and push the Einstein button to change the song.

There are over 30 melodies in the range, and volume control is off/low/high.
